Super Green Eco Builds Replace Brownfield Relics

When I first moved here many years ago, there were lots of empty factory and warehouse sites dotted around – nothing very large, a police house here, small home shoe industry elsewhere etc.  The original owners either gave up and moved off, we never know.  They’d been empty untidy and unloved for years.  Then a few years ago came the changes from government to the planning rules – brown field sites were to be used up first for new infill plots.  It has made such a difference around here.  When you see a gappy ugly old dump day after day, you cease to notice it after a while.  But when a developer gets permission and demolishes it, you can sense the excitement of the new.  Power to the good design team who can make our localities look so much more attractive; the new places are all homes and most are of the green eco variety.
